Any
home remedy for acne you decide to go with should be used in addition
to the following guidelines.
Wash your face or the area where you have acne with a soap that has
bezoyl peroxide such as Oxy-5 or with Dove soap. Keep the area clean,
but do not scrub it.
Shampoo your hair often and keep it out of your face so the oils wont
get on you skin.
Try to avoid shaving the area and if you do need to shave it be very
careful so that you don’t cut the pimples. Also, use a new
shaving blade each time to avoid spreading the acne infection. At the
very least, sterilize your razor blade between uses.
Try not to use foundation or other types of makeup on your acne, if you
absolutely must use make up, go for only hypoallergenic fragrance free.
Acne is not like the average pimple, do not pop, squeeze or scratch
your acne pimples. This will only spread the infection and cause them
to scar.
It is best to avoid greasy foods and dairy products as those have been
known to make acne worse. Eating foods high in beta-carotene has been
shown to help acne symptoms. So make sure to add some carrots to your
diet.
I have come across a herbal remedy that actually controls the oils
being secreted by your skin in order to help clear up acne. It is
called Acnezine.
